England’s North East is steeped in history and this tour offers the chance some of it’s famous areas and attractions.
Friday We depart and visit Thirsk, the cobbled market town and home of renowned vet James Herriot. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Middlesbrough and the Jurys Inn Middlesbrough. This evening enjoy a three course evening meal.
Saturday Today we visit Richmond, a beautiful Yorkshire Dales market town. Later this afternoon we continue to the Bowes Museum, the jewel in the heart of the historic market town of Barnard Castle, housing collections of fine and decorative arts.
Sunday This morning we travel to Newcastle’s famous Sunday market. Later this afternoon we will include a journey on the Tanfield Railway. Laying claim to be ‘the world’s oldest railway’ this preserved railway, passes through rolling countryside.
Monday We depart after breakfast and travel to Durham. The city, with its medieval past, has eagerly embraced the modern with its captivating mix of history and heritage with contemporary culture. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
