History and legends abound on this fascinating break as we uncover the extraordinary story or Richard III and the War of the Roses.
Friday We depart and travel to the Leicester and the King Richard III visitor centre. Here we explore the fascinating and moving story of the life and death of King Richard III, how he was discovered. We then walk the short distance to Leicester Cathedral where we can view the tomb of King Richard III. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Hinckley Island and the Jurys Inn Hinckley Island. This evening enjoy a three course evening meal.
Saturday Today we travel to the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and Country Park. The heritage centre tells the dramatic story of the Battle of Bosworth on Monday 22nd August 1485, which marked a major turning point in English history. We will be joined by a guide for a walking tour.
Sunday We depart after breakfast and travel to Warwick Castle with included entrance. A medieval castle with 1,000 years of fascinating history, King Richard III owned the castle for a while after the execution of his brother and was the home of his wife Anne Neville. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
