Yorkshire has long been celebrated for its scenery and the two railways we include will take you through over 50 miles of this beautiful region.
Friday We depart and travel to Richmond, a beautiful Yorkshire Dales market town. With a Norman castle, Georgian architecture, a large cobbled market place, museums, monuments and abbey, Richmond has breathtaking scenery. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to the Jurys Inn Middlesbrough. This evening enjoy a three course evening meal.
Saturday Today we board the Esk Valley Railway, for a scenic journey through the North Yorkshire Moors National Park to Whitby. The 90-minute journey, travels 35 miles, as it weaves its way through picturesque countryside and quaint little villages. On arrival in Whitby, we will enjoy free time to explore. We will return to the hotel by coach.
Sunday We depart after breakfast and travel to Leeming Bar, were we board the Wensleydale Railway. The scenic journey will pass through the Georgian market town of Bedale and the Dales market town of Leyburn, before arriving at Redmire on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
