From Brunel to Banksy, Bristol has some of England’s most recognisable landmarks as well as plenty of hidden gems.
Friday We depart and travel to Aerospace Bristol, a new industrial heritage museum that tells the story of Bristol’s world-class aerospace industry. Starting in the earliest days of flight, it will take you on a fascinating journey through aviation history. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to the outskirts of Bristol and the Doubletree by Hilton Bristol North. This evening enjoy a three course evening meal.
Saturday Today we include entrance to the SS Great Britain. Be sure to head beneath the glass sea, walk through the history of the ship in the Dockyard Museum and step onto the ship itself. Alive with sights, sounds and even smells, prepare to set sail on the most extraordinary time machine. Later this afternoon, we include a cruise and discover the fascinating history of Bristol’s floating harbour.
Sunday We depart after breakfast and enjoy a guided walking tour of the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Crossing the Avon Gorge, 75 metres above the high tide mark, you will find out why the design of the Bridge changed so many times and how daredevil bridge builders managed to get the suspension chains from one side to the other. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
