This winter the unmissable Festival of Light at Longleat returns to transform the park into a glowing winter wonderland.
Friday We depart and travel to the Cotswolds and the quintessentially English villages of Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water. The Cotswolds are home to some of the most unspoilt, historic and famous towns and villages in England. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Swindon and the Jurys Inn. This evening enjoy a three course evening meal.
Saturday Today we include a visit to the historical market town of Chippenham, one of the West Country’s most vibrant towns. Later this afternoon we continue to Longleats iconic Wiltshire estate, which is transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland with illuminated lanterns. We will include a drive through the amazing safari park, but the highlight of the day will be the spectacular festival of light. Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.
Sunday Following breakfast, we travel home via Oxford, the City of Dreaming Spires. Steeped in a rich and fascinating history, Oxford is famous for its prestigious university and is home to 38 colleges where many notable scholars have emerged. Its charming scenery has been the inspiration for many including Lewis Carroll and JRR Tolkien. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
The Jurys Inn Swindon, is a modern hotel ideally located in the centre of Swindon, a short walk from all the town’s many shops, restaurants and bars. All bedrooms are en-suite with television, telephone, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Additional facilities include a restaurant, bar and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
