Sunday We depart for Dover early this morning and our crossing to Calais. On arrival in France we continue to our overnight hotel for one night, bed and breakfast.
Monday This morning we continue our journey through France and into Spain for ten night’s dinner, bed and brunch at the Hotel Volga.

Thursday (Boxing Day) Optional excursion to Montserrat Monastery. Santa Maria de Montserrat is a Benedictine abbey located on the mountain of Montserrat, in Monistrol de Montserrat, in Catalonia, Spain. The Virgin of Montserrat, Black Madonna, the patron saint of Catalonia, is worshipped at the shrine in the monastery.
Friday Included excursion to Barcelona. Enjoy a stroll along the wide promenade Las Ramblas, explore the narrow alleys, boutique shops and tapas bars in the Barrio Gothic and don’t miss the buildings designed by Spain’s most famous architect, Antoni Gaudi.
Saturday Included excursion to Gerona. Known as the ‘City of the Four Rivers’, Gerona’s historic centre is dominated by medieval buildings. Inside the walled enclosure of ‘La Forca Vella’ you will find
remains of its history including the gothic style cathedral.
Sunday Included excursion to Blanes & Lloret de Mar. The township of Blanes is located at the southernmost end of the province of Girona, by the mouth of the Tordera River. The town of Lloret de Mar is one of the largest tourist centers on Gerona’s sea front.
Monday Optional excursion to Roses. The beach is backed by a glorious pedestrian promenade with no shortage of shops and bars to enjoy. The charming old town still lies beneath the medieval walls and you can enjoy a glass of wine served from the barrel in one of the many tapas bars.
Tuesday (New Year’s Eve) Optional excursion to Sant Feliu de Guixols and Platja d’Aro. Located in the southernmost end of the region, on a small bay that opens up between the mountains of Sant Elm and
the hills of El Molí de les Forques, Sant Feliu de Guíxols is known for its cork industry and seafaring tradition. The cosmopolitan resort of Platja d’Aro is a popular weekend and shopping destination for the local Catalans. Enjoy the beautiful main beach or find one of the secluded bays which from the resort centre.
Wednesday (New Year’s Day) Day at leisure.
Thursday We depart Calella and begin our return journey home travelling through Spain and into France for one night, bed and breakfast.
Friday We depart for Calais and our crossing to Dover. Retracing our steps home, we arrive later this evening.
