Bury Market & Southport

Day 1. Saturday We depart and travel to Bury Market. The award-winning market is in the heart of Bury and has over 370 stalls selling everything from the latest fashions and footwear to household goods and books. You may also wish to visit Bury Transport Museum, which houses a collection of vintage vehicles including buses, steam rollers and trams (charge applicable). We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Blackburn and the Hampton by Hilton Blackburn. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.

Day 2. Sunday Following breakfast, we travel home via the classic seaside resort of Southport, home to scenic parks and gardens and fabulous shopping on Lord Street. It is also home to the oldest iron pier in the country, standing for over 150 years, stretching proudly across Southport beach. A walk to the end of Southport Pier will give you views across the Northwest and on a clear day you can see neighbouring Blackpool and even the North Wales coast. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.

The Hampton by Hilton Blackburn is a modern hotel, ideally located for visiting Bury Market and Southport, a fun-loving seaside town, full of Victorian architecture and iron pier. All bedrooms are en-suite with walk-in shower, television, mini-fridge, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, tea/coffee making facilities and Wi-Fi. Additional facilities include an open plan restaurant and lounge bar. Leisure facilities include a small fitness centre. Lift to all floors. No ground floor bedrooms.
