Starting as a small trickle in the Cotswolds, the River Thames travels over 210 miles through the heart of some of England’s most picturesque towns. Our scenic itinerary will include 4 relaxing cruises, offering breathtaking views, which will take in the very best of the River Thames and its surrounding towns, villages, and countryside.

Itinerary

Day 1. Friday We depart and travel to Windsor and enjoy a 40-minute return cruise. This short cruise goes upstream to Boveney Lock & returns with fantastic views of Windsor Castle, Eton College, Mill House, Windsor Racecourse & the Brocas Meadows. The view of the Castle from the river is undoubtedly the finest there is. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Reading and the Holiday Inn Reading South. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.

Day 2. Saturday Today we enjoy a 90-minute single cruise from Runnymede to Windsor. Leaving from the Runnymede Boathouse, the boat will cruise upstream through Old Windsor Lock and continues through the pretty villages of Old Windsor and Datchet. Travelling through the grounds of Windsor Castle, the boat then passes through Romney Lock and arrives in Windsor. On arrival in Windsor there will be free time to explore. The Royal Borough has a rich mix of history, culture, heritage to enjoy.

Day 3. Sunday Today we enjoy a scenic 90-minute return cruise which travels upstream from Caversham Bridge to Mapledurham Lock. Following the Thames upstream, you will see wildlife, open countryside, islands and views out towards the Berkshire Downs. This afternoon we head to the vibrant Georgian market town of Marlow. The town is made up of historic streets and an abundance of boutique shops, restaurants, cafes, and bistros all adding to the town’s unique charm.

Day 4. Monday We depart after breakfast and travel to Henley-on-Thames for time at leisure and included 60-minute cruise. This 13th century market town is one of the most beautiful towns in England. It enjoys a wonderful stretch of river with delightful independent shops, brilliant pubs, and great restaurants. The Henley Royal Regatta takes place early July and is the most famous in the world. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.

The modern and contemporary Hilton Reading is ideally located for visiting Windsor and Henley-on-Thames. All bedrooms are en-suite with television, telephone, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Additional facilities include a bar and restaurant. Leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym. Lift to all floors.
