Day 1. Saturday We depart and travel to the historic city of Chester, a classic, contemporary city, bursting with must see treasures. It has the most complete city walls, the oldest racecourse and the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, plus a 1000-year-old Cathedral with Europe's finest example of medieval carvings - and of course the one and only 700 year old Rows galleries where shopping is a double delight. We will also cruise on the River Dee. This tranquil half-hour cruise will take you upstream, under the suspension bridge, past Grosvenor Park, and the Earl’s Eye, then follow the long sweep of the Meadows to the city limits. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Mold, situated across the border and the Beaufort Park Hotel. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.
Day 2. Sunday Following breakfast, we travel home via Chester Zoo. With over 35,000 animals and 125 acres of zoological gardens to explore, you will never be bored at Chester Zoo! It is the most visited zoo in the UK and a conservation and education charity committed to preventing extinction. You will be transported to some of the most remote corners of the world, to experience the critically endangered orangutans from the rainforests of southeast Asia, to the bouncing ring-tailed lemurs of Madagascar, to the roar some lions of the savannah plains, to name a few! Whether you’re a budding conservationist, or wanting a memorable family day out, or just love seeing thousands of our exotic species, there is something for everyone. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
