Treasures of Northumberland

Day 1. Monday We travel to Alnwick.

Day 2. Tuesday Enjoy a visit to Lindisfarne and Bamburgh. Twice daily, a long narrow neck of land sinks under the North Sea tide, separating Lindisfarne or Holy Island from the coast. The idyllic country village of Bamburgh is set in one of the most breathtakingly picturesque coastal regions the country has to offer.

Day 3. Wednesday Today we enjoy a visit to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Berwick-upon-Tweed sits at the most northerly tip of Northumberland, just 3 miles from the Scottish Border. A coastal town with four sandy beaches and beautiful riverside walks, Berwick is perfectly situated for a relaxing day’s excursion. We return via a short visit to Seahouses, a colourful fishing village.

Day 4. Thursday Enjoy a day at leisure or we may offer an optional excursion (charge applicable). Your driver will provide you with further information.

Day 5. Friday We depart and return home.

The White Swan Hotel is a charming 300 year old coaching inn, set in the heart of the market town of Alnwick and only a short distance from Alnwick Castle and Gardens. All bedrooms are en-suite with television, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Additional facilities include a bar and restaurant. NO LIFT. Limited ground floor bedrooms accessed through the hotel’s gardens. Due to the historic nature of the hotel, there are various steps around the hotel, including to the ground floor bedrooms, therefore the hotel it is not recommended for the mobility impaired.
