Day 1. Monday We travel to Llandrindod Wells.
Day 2. Tuesday Following breakfast, we include a visit to the Victorian seaside resort of Aberystwyth, which is home to lovely beaches and a pleasant promenade and still retains much of its Georgian and Victorian character. Later this afternoon we enjoy a journey on the Vale of Rheidol Railway. The unforgettable 12-mile journey travels from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge, travelling up 700ft through some of Wales’ most spectacular scenery on a historic narrow-gauge steam railway.
Day 3. Wednesday Today we enjoy a guided tour of the Elan Valley. During our circular tour we will be accompanied by a Park Ranger. The Elan Valley is on the southern edge of the Cambrian Mountains in Mid Wales and is famous for its spectacular dams and Victorian architecture. The six Elan Valley dams are one of the greatest civil engineering achievements of the late 19th and early 20th century. Later this afternoon we return to Llandrindod Wells with free time to explore the town which is full of Victorian charm.
Day 4. Thursday Enjoy a day visiting the bustling market town of Brecon, situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The town is known for the famous Brecon Jazz Festival, independent shops and cafés, history, military connections and of course, the magnificent cathedral. Brecon Cathedral is set within the only walled cathedral close in Wales and is regarded as one of the country’s finest buildings. Inside the Cathedral is a rare and beautiful Celtic font.
Day 5. Friday We depart and return home.
