Itinerary

Day 1. Monday We travel to Biggar. Enjoy a glass of wine with your dinner this evening.

Day 2. Tuesday Today we head through beautiful Border Country towards Edinburgh, stopping off at the 15th century Rosslyn Chapel. Rosslyn Chapel was founded in 1446 by Sir William St Clair. The beauty of its setting, in rural Midlothian, and the mysterious symbolism of its ornate stonework have inspired, attracted, and intrigued writers, artists and visitors ever since. Later we continue to Edinburgh. With an abundance of history, attractions and beautiful architecture, there is lots to explore. Enjoy a glass of wine with your dinner this evening.

Day 3. Wednesday Following breakfast, we enjoy a scenic drive through the Trossachs National Park. We return to the hotel for a cream tea, with the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. Enjoy a glass of wine with your dinner this evening.

Day 4. Thursday Today we travel to Dumfries House, one of Britain’s most beautiful stately homes and best kept heritage secrets, with sumptuous interiors and magnificent furnishings, all set in two thousand acres of land. Later we continue to the popular seaside resort of Ayr, complete with a charming sea front and leafy suburbs. It has a fantastic esplanade with a long sandy beach which is perfect for a relaxing afternoon stroll. Enjoy a glass of wine with your dinner this evening.

Day 5. Friday We depart and return home.

Tinto House Hotel

Nestled in five acres of stunning gardens within the breathtaking countryside of the Scottish Borders, this traditional country house hotel was built in 1914 and is the perfect setting for a relaxing break. All bedrooms are en-suite with bath or shower, television and tea/coffee making facilities. Many bedrooms enjoy views across the beautiful Clyde Countryside. Additional facilities include a restaurant and bar. NO LIFT. Limited ground floor bedrooms.
