Day 1. Monday We travel to Fort William.
Day 2. Tuesday Following breakfast, we enjoy a visit to Fort Augustus, a pretty village situated on the southern tip of Loch Ness. Lying on the impressive 60 mile long Caledonian Canal, halfway between Inverness and Fort William, Fort Augustus offers spectacular views down the famous Loch Ness, which stretches for 23-miles. Explore the rich history of the Caledonian Canal, do some Nessie-spotting, grab a souvenir, or enjoy homemade, Scottish produce at the Caledonian Canal Centre.
Day 3. Wednesday After a delicious Scottish breakfast, we enjoy a scenic journey on the spectacular West Highland Line, from Fort William to Mallaig. The return journey will be operated by diesel train. Widely regarded as one of the world's greatest train journeys, the West Highland Line is known to millions as the railway that took Harry Potter from Platform 9 and ¾ all the way to Hogwarts. Travelling over the Glenfinnan Viaduct it is considered by many to not only be the most scenic rail journey in Scotland, but in the world.
Day 4. Thursday After breakfast, we enjoy free time to explore Fort William at your leisure. Fort William is a town in the western Scottish Highlands, on the shores of Loch Linnhe and is known as a gateway to Ben Nevis, the U.K.’s highest peak. The town is also often described as the outdoor capital of the UK. From sandy beaches and dramatic hills to iconic films locations, there are plenty of things to do in Fort William including Ben Nevis Distillery, one of Scotland’s oldest licensed distilleries.
Day 5. Friday We depart and return home.
