Itinerary

Day 1. Monday We travel to Ashford.

Day 2. Tuesday Today we enjoy a journey on the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway and visit to Folkestone. Set against the backdrop of some of Kent’s most picturesque countryside, the 13½ miles of track stretches across the picturesque Romney Marsh from the Cinque Port town of Hythe to Dungeness, which is designated as a National Nature Reserve. Later this afternoon we continue to Folkstone for time at leisure. From independent shops and galleries lining the cobbled streets of Folkestone's Creative Quarter, to coastal walks and a host of places to eat, Folkestone has a unique charm.

Day 3. Wednesday Today we enjoy a journey on the Kent & East Sussex Railway and visit to Hastings. The Kent & East Sussex Railway is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and follows the wide unspoilt Rother Valley for much of the journey. Our journey will travel for 10 ½ miles from Tenterden to Bodiam. We continue by coach to Hastings. One of the medieval Cinque Ports, Hastings three-mile seafront stretches from the fishing fleet at the eastern end through the hustle and bustle of the arcades and funfair rides, to the pier and unique double-decker promenade Bottle Alley, arriving finally at peaceful Grosvenor Gardens.

Day 4. Thursday Today we enjoy a visit to Dover and Deal. Awe-inspiring and world-famous, The White Cliffs of Dover have been captivating visitors for centuries. Step into the past and explore Dover Castle, this magnificent coastal fortress overlooks the Port of Dover and chronicles 2000 years of history. Whilst Dover Museum is home to the world’s oldest-surviving sea-going vessel. Later this afternoon we travel to Deal, a quirky and quintessentially English seaside town. It has an award-winning high street full of independent shops; a pebbly beach dotted with fishing boats and beach huts; and an unspoiled seafront graced by bespoke bistros and historical buildings.

Day 5. Friday We depart and return home.
