Itinerary

Day 1. Monday We travel to Aberfoyle.

Day 2. Tuesday Today we explore the beautiful and historic city of Stirling. Perched high above the town, the spectacular Stirling Castle offers panoramic views and a rich royal legacy. Below, the compact Heritage Mile connects Stirling’s atmospheric Old Town with its vibrant modern centre, boasting one of the finest collections of historic buildings in Scotland. Keep an eye out for immaculately preserved medieval and Renaissance landmarks, including Argyll’s Lodging – a striking 17th-century townhouse nestled just beneath the castle. For a deeper insight into the city’s storied past, consider joining a Stirling Walking Tour and uncover its fascinating tales.

Day 3. Wednesday Today, we journey through the breathtaking and dramatic landscapes of the Trossachs, often called the Highlands in miniature. Our scenic route takes us over the winding Dukes Pass, past the quaint village of Brig o’ Turk, and on to the lively town of Callander. Set along the River Teith and dramatically backed by high, wooded crags, Callander is affectionately known as the gateway to the Highlands. The streets are lined with welcoming cafés, and local shops, and TV fans might recognise the town as the filming location for Doctor Finlay’s Casebook. It’s the perfect spot to pause, explore, and soak up the charm of rural Scotland.

Day 4. Thursday Today we visit Scotland’s magnificent and historic capital, Edinburgh. From the medieval closes and towering tenements of the Old Town to the stately Georgian streets of the New Town, Edinburgh is a city of contrasts – and one of the world’s most beautiful. Visit the iconic Edinburgh Castle, delve into history at the free-to-enter National Museum of Scotland, or dare to explore the spooky and atmospheric Edinburgh Dungeon. Prefer to hit the shops? Edinburgh offers a fabulous range of stores to suit all styles, tastes, and budgets, from independent boutiques to high-street favourites. Some attractions may incur an entrance fee.

Day 5. Friday We depart after breakfast and return home.

Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
