Day 1. Friday We travel to Minehead, Somerset.
Day 2. Saturday Following breakfast, we include a morning visit to Dunster. Dunster is situated in the sweeping hills of the Exmoor National Park. With over 200 listed buildings Dunster is preserved so that generations to come can enjoy the historic qualities of this unique village. Dunster has a wealth of historic buildings, from the National Trust’s 11th century Dunster Castle to the Old Yarn Market in the middle of the High Street, which was a focal point for the old Exmoor wool and cloth trade.
Day 3. Sunday Today we enjoy free time in Minehead and journey on the West Somerset Railway. Minehead is a charming Edwardian seaside town. It has a stunning mile long seafront, pretty harbour and attractive Blenheim Gardens. Later this afternoon we will board the West Somerset Railway and enjoy a nostalgic 20-mile journey through stunning Somerset countryside. The line meanders along the Bristol Channel coast and through the Quantock Hills to Bishop Lydeard. We will return by coach to the hotel.
Day 4. Monday Following breakfast, we travel home via a short visit to Weston super Mare. As one of Britain’s most loved holiday destinations, Weston super Mare is a popular coastal resort on the North Somerset coast. You will find a superb sea front, flat promenade, magnificent grand pier and plenty of seaside attractions. Weston High Street boasts a great variety of retail outlets from national brands to family run department store Walker & Ling. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
