Day 1. Friday We depart and travel to the Cotswolds and the quintessentially English villages of Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold. Bourton-on-the-Water is a popular destination with gently flowing River Windrush running through the centre of the village and crossed by attractive little bridges. At nearly 800ft, Stow is the highest of the Cotswold towns, the Market Square is large and impressive and testifies to the town’s former importance. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Swindon and the Leonardo Hotel Swindon. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.
Day 2. Saturday Today we include a visit to Longleat’s iconic Wiltshire estate. We will include a drive through the amazing safari park, where you will be able to discover various species of animal from around the world including lions, tigers, wolves, koalas, porcupines, and sea lions, but the highlight of the day will be the spectacular festival of light. Featuring over 800 custom-designed, hand-painted lanterns that you won't see anywhere else, this year The Festival of Light promises to be even more extraordinary than ever. There will be a late evening meal at the hotel.
The scenic drive through the safari park will not include the monkey enclosure. Entrance to the house is not included.
Day 3. Sunday Following breakfast, we travel home via Oxford, the City of Dreaming Spires. Steeped in a rich and fascinating history, Oxford is famous for its prestigious university and is home to 38 colleges where many notable scholars have emerged. Its charming scenery has been the inspiration for many. Visit the hallowed halls of the university and follow in the footsteps of Prime Ministers, poets and the one and only Harry Potter. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
