Itinerary

Day 1. Thursday We travel to Winchester

Day 2. Friday Following breakfast, we travel to Portsmouth for an included harbour cruise. The cruise around the harbour and Naval Dockyard will give you views of the modern Royal Navy, historical sights, and natural environment. We will enjoy free time to explore Portsmouth, before including entrance to the Spinnaker Tower. Soaring high above the harbour, at 170 meters tall, the Spinnaker Tower offers unrivalled panoramic views of the area. The viewing decks, with their floor to ceiling glass walls, offer views stretching up 23 miles on a clear day. The view is ever changing with warships and cruise ships heading in and out of port.

Day 3. Saturday Today we enjoy a visit to Salisbury. A Cathedral city of ageless beauty and captivating history, Salisbury has been welcoming travellers since 1227. At the city’s heart is Salisbury Cathedral, a beacon that has attracted visitors for centuries. At Salisbury Cathedral you will find the best preserved of the four original Magna Carta manuscripts dating from 1215AD. Nearby, the famous Cathedral Close houses attractions like Arundells, Mompesson House, The Rifles Military Museum and Salisbury Museum. The historic streets are home to all your favourite stores, as well as independent retailers offering unusual items you won’t find on every high street.

Day 4. Sunday Today we enjoy a visit to Winchester. An unspoilt cathedral city on the edge of the rolling South Downs, Winchester is England’s ancient capital and former seat of King Alfred the Great. Popular for its bustling shopping, Winchester is most well-known for its eleventh century cathedral and for the Great Hall which for over 700 years has housed the mysterious Round Table. We will also experience the golden age of steam on The Watercress Line, where you can sit back, relax and travel through the glorious Hampshire countryside by steam train, looking towards stunning views of the South Downs National Park.

Day 5. Monday We depart after breakfast and return home.

Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
