The Flying Scotsman

Day 1. Sunday We depart and travel to Wansford Station, near Peterborough for an included journey on the Flying Scotsman. Seated in a heritage carriage you will be able to take in the atmosphere of the bygone age at the Nene Valley Railway with the global celebrity at the head of your train. The combination of the steam, smell and the Nene Valley Railway is more than enough to bring back those memories of a very different world decades ago. The journey will take approximately 60-minutes. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Huntingdon and the Delta Hotel by Marriott Huntingdon. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.

Day 2. Monday Following breakfast, we travel home via the university city of Cambridge. Packed full of stunning architecture and nature, Cambridge is a beautiful university town renowned for its impact on history. The tightly packed city centre is perfect for exploring ancient colleges, cobbled streets and the picturesque “Backs” alongside the River Cam. A city that celebrates quintessential England with pioneering scientific research. With famous graduates such as Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin and Professor Stephen Hawking, you’ll be following in some famous footsteps. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.

The Delta Hotel by Marriott Huntingdon is a modern hotel, 4-miles from the city centre and is ideally located for visiting the university city of Cambridge. All non-smoking bedrooms are en-suite with television, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and tea/coffee making facilities. Additional facilities include a restaurant and lounge bar. There is also recently refitted gym with cardio equipment, small swimming pool and a steam room also available. Lift to all floors. Limited ground floor bedrooms.
