Day 1. Saturday We depart and travel to Froghall Station with an included journey on the Churnet Valley Railway. Let the Churnet Valley Railway return you to a more leisurely and relaxing era when you dine in style in one of their period restaurant cars, as the beautiful Churnet Valley countryside slips by your window. Enjoy a selection of traditional scones and cakes whilst delighting in the vintage ambience on board the restored dining train with this quintessentially British treat, hosted by a dedicated team of train volunteers. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Telford and the Mercure Telford. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.
Day 2. Sunday We depart after breakfast and travel home via Shrewsbury. Tucked in a loop of the River Severn near the Welsh border, this medieval market town is famous for its cobbled streets and Tudor centre. The town itself is a wonderful mixture of old and new. The picturesque black and white timber-framed buildings, historic landmarks and ancient town walls sit side by side with modern architecture. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
Itinerary change: We will no longer include a visit to Lichfield.
