Itinerary

Day 1. Saturday We depart and travel to Oswaldtwistle Mills, where you’ll have free time to enjoy lunch and browse the wide variety of shops before reboarding the coach for a fascinating guided tour of Pendle Witch Country. You will meander through the stunning Lancashire countryside surrounding Pendle Hill, a landscape that has remained largely unchanged since the time of the infamous witch trials. Along the way, hear chilling tales of devilish deeds and wicked acts that led to the execution of ten alleged witches in Lancaster in 1612 - stories steeped in mystery, superstition, folklore, and local legend that still captivate visitors today, inspiring countless books, and films. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Preston and the Holiday Inn Preston. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.

Day 2. Sunday We depart after breakfast and travel into the stunning Lake District, England’s largest National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for an included scenic cruise and some leisure time. Our cruise departs from the picturesque town of Ambleside, sailing peacefully across the tranquil, sparkling waters of Lake Windermere to the charming town of Bowness. Upon arrival, you’ll have free time to explore this vibrant lakeside town, which offers hundreds of shops, inviting cafes, and a variety of eating and drinking establishments. Bowness also boasts many cultural and historical attractions, including the delightful World of Beatrix Potter and beautiful surrounding landscapes. Later this afternoon, we depart Bowness to begin our journey home, taking with us wonderful memories of this region.
