Discover three historic cities on a break to Scotland with included visits to Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh, famous for its annual summer festival and its historic castle. All three cities have lots to enjoy with something for everyone with many free museums including Edinburgh's National Museum of Scotland.

Itinerary

Day 1. Monday We travel to Aberfoyle.

Day 2. Tuesday Today we enjoy a visit to Edinburgh. Not only a capital city, but Edinburgh is also packed with medieval tenements, narrow wynds of the Old Town and the sweeping elegance of the Georgian New Town and is one of the world’s most stunning cities. There is a whole host of things to see and do in Edinburgh, from the iconic Edinburgh Castle to the National Museum of Scotland, which is free to enter or brave the Edinburgh Dungeon. If you’re after a spot of retail therapy, shopping in Edinburgh is a fantastic experience and caters for all budgets.

Day 3. Wednesday Enjoy a day travelling through the glorious Trossachs to Stirling. We journey over the Dukes Pass, pass the village of Brig o Turk, before reaching Stirling. A small city with a big history, Stirling is known for historic attractions including the historic Stirling Castle. The castle has stood here for centuries and is a stronghold with a turbulent past and has seen many kings and queens throughout its history. It has stunning grounds and gardens to explore, the Great Hall, Chapel Royal, castle exhibition, Regimental Museum, Tapestry Studio and more.

Day 4. Thursday Enjoy a day visiting Glasgow. Glasgow is a city bursting with history, culture and mouth-watering food and drink. There are visitor attractions for every taste, from museums and galleries to football and science. The city is also home to one of Europe’s largest civic arts collections. Glasgow is packed with world-class museums, many of which are free to visit. Explore tales of Glasgow's past or take in grand buildings in city parks. The award-winning Riverside Museum houses the city’s vast transport collection and street scenes from a bygone era.

Day 5. Friday We depart and return home.

Rob Roy Hotel

Named after the legendary local folk hero Rob Roy McGregor, the Rob Roy Hotel is wonderfully situated in idyllic countryside at the gateway to the glorious Trossachs and is set within Scotland’s first National Park. The majority of bedrooms are on the ground floor and there is lift access to all bedrooms on the first floor.
