Day 1. Saturday We depart and travel to Kidderminster for an included journey on the Severn Valley Railway, one of the UK’s premier heritage railways. You will be able to soak up the splendour of a bygone age as you travel in a comfortable historic carriage, as the railway meanders through sixteen miles of Worcestershire and Shropshire scenery, dotted with authentic country stations.
To celebrate the Severn Valley Railway’s 60th anniversary, they are heading back to the 1960s this weekend. With live music up and down the line, fairground attractions at The Engine House, real ale festival at Kidderminster and classic cars from yesteryear, dress to impress for the swinging sixties. Steam and diesel trains will be operating along the line, representing the ‘changeover years’ on Britain’s railways.
We depart later this afternoon for the journey to West Bromwich and the Mercure Birmingham West. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.
Day 2. Sunday Following breakfast, we travel home via the West Midlands Safari Park. Set in 200 acres of beautiful Worcestershire countryside, West Midlands Safari Park is one of the leading attractions of the West Midlands. There is a magnificent display of rare and exotic animals to see in the four-mile drive-through safari including the largest pride of white lions in the UK. There is also plenty to explore on foot including penguin cove, sea lion theatre and reptile world. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
