Day 1. Saturday We depart and travel to Skipton for its popular Saturday Market. The history of the market dates back to medieval times, when a Royal Charter from King John granted consent to ‘The Lord of the Honour’ of Skipton Castle to hold a fair on Skipton High Street. Today the market is home to an array of stalls selling everything from cheeses to scarves, local meat to arts & crafts, shoes & boots to Yorkshire made blankets. Away from the market you can also visit Skipton Castle. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Blackburn and the Hampton by Hilton Blackburn. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.
Day 2. Sunday We depart after breakfast and travel into the Lake District, England's largest National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site for time at leisure. On arrival at Bowness on Windermere there will be free time to explore. Situated on the shores of Lake Windermere this dynamic town boasts hundreds of shops, eating and drinking establishments and many fine cultural and historical attractions including The World of Beatrix Potter. Lake Windermere is England’s largest lake and there is no better way to enjoy the lake then onboard a relaxing cruise (not included). We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
