Day 1. Friday We depart and enjoy a scenic drive through The Cotswolds. The Cotswolds covers a huge area – almost 800 square miles – and runs through five counties. One of the delights of visiting the Cotswolds is exploring the different areas, each with its own identity, yet all with those defining Cotswold features: honey-coloured cottages and rolling hills. The Cotswolds was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in 1966 and the region spans five counties. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Swindon and the Leonardo Hotel Swindon. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.
Day 2. Saturday Today we enjoy a visit to Salisbury with included entrance to Salisbury Cathedral and The Spirit of the Water Flower Festival. The festival will bring stunning floral arrangements made of more than thirty thousand blooms to the Cathedral’s interior. The festival, titled The Spirit of Water, is a companion piece to the Cathedral’s summer art exhibition, Living Water. The Flower Festival takes its inspiration from water in all its different forms – rain, water, ice and more. There will also be time to explore Salisbury, a Cathedral city of ageless beauty and captivating history, which has been welcoming travellers since 1227.
Day 3. Sunday Following breakfast, we travel home via Oxford, the City of Dreaming Spires. Steeped in a rich and fascinating history, Oxford is famous for its prestigious university and is home to 38 colleges where many notable scholars have emerged and 1,500 listed buildings. Its charming scenery has been the inspiration for many. Visit the halls of the university and follow in the footsteps of Prime Ministers, poets and the one and only Harry Potter. It is also a favourite filming location for many famous TV shows, including Inspector Morse, Lewis and Midsomer Murders. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
