Day 1. Friday We depart and travel to Brighton. On arrival at the Maldron Hotel Brighton the remainder of the day will be free for you to explore. Please Note: Bedrooms may not be available to check into until approximately 16:00. There is a whole host of things to do and enjoy in Brighton including the Royal Pavillion, the spectacular seaside palace of the Prince Regent (George IV). The palace was transformed by John Nash between 1815 and 1823 into one of the most dazzling and exotic buildings in the British Isles. The Royal Pavilion mixes Regency grandeur with Indian architecture and Chinese inspired interiors.
Day 2. Saturday Today is free for you to explore Brighton at your own pace. For a spot of retail therapy head to The Lanes, originally the centre of the sleepy fishing village of Brighthelmstone. Today the series of twisting alleyways are home to antique stores, jewellers and designer boutiques. North Laine is the bohemian quarter with more than 300 independent shops selling anything and everything from vegetarian shoes to African drums and vintage fashion. The mix of old and new is what gives The Lanes its special charm. The North Laine is also home to vibrant street art. Look out for Banksy’s ‘Kissing Policeman’.
Day 3. Sunday Today is free for you to explore Brighton at your own pace. For something a little bit different experience Brighton’s best views at Brighton i360. The spacious glass viewing pod will gently glide up 138 metres high and allows you to walk around and enjoy the views of the quirky city of Brighton. You will also be able to see the beautiful rolling South Downs National Park, the UNESCO Biosphere and, on the clearest days, all the way along the coast to the Isle of Wight. The Brighton i360 is also home to the South Coast’s Highest Bar, The Nyetimber Sky Bar. Where else can you sip a cocktail at 450ft high in the sky?
Day 4. Monday Enjoy your final day in Brighton, before we return home. Take a leisurely stroll along the bustling promenade and soak up the cosmopolitan atmosphere at one of the cafes, restaurants and bars. Relax on the beach or try your hand at one of the many activities or visit one of the seaside attractions including Brighton Palace Pier. The Palace Pier is a 1,722ft long Victorian pier and is home to a famous fish and chip restaurant, fairground attractions and two arcades. It is a wonderful combination of traditional British architecture and lively modern entertainment. Later this afternoon, we will depart Brighton and begin our return journey home.
Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
