Day 1. Friday We depart and enjoy a scenic drive through The Cotswolds. The Cotswolds covers a huge area – almost 800 square miles – and runs through five counties. One of the delights of visiting the Cotswolds is exploring the different areas, each with its own identity, yet all with those defining Cotswold features: golden stone and rolling hills. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Swindon and the Leonardo Hotel Swindon. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.
Day 2. Saturday Today we include a visit to Longleat’s iconic Wiltshire estate. We will include a drive through the amazing safari park, where you will be able to discover various species of animal from around the world, but the highlight of the day will be the spectacular festival of light. As darkness falls, the park is transformed into a magical winter wonderland by incredible illuminated displays set within over 30 acres of splendid 'Capability' Brown landscaped grounds. Featuring custom-designed, hand-painted lanterns that you won't see anywhere else, this year The Festival of Light promises to be even more extraordinary than ever. With a new theme every year, The Longleat Festival of Light is the UK's original and best lantern experience. There will be a late evening meal at the hotel.
The scenic drive through the safari park will not include the monkey enclosure. Entrance to the house is not included.
Day 3. Sunday Following breakfast, we travel home via Oxford, the City of Dreaming Spires. Steeped in a rich and fascinating history, Oxford is famous for its prestigious university and is home to 38 colleges where many notable scholars have emerged. Its charming scenery has been the inspiration for many. Visit the hallowed halls of the university and follow in the footsteps of Prime Ministers, poets and the one and only Harry Potter. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
