Day 1. Sunday We depart and travel to Shepperton. On arrival at the Holiday Inn London Shepperton the remainder of the afternoon will be free, until we depart and make the short journey to the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew. Christmas at Kew is a unique night-time experience, as the one-mile glittering trail winds its way through the world-famous botanic gardens in a magical after dark experience. Wander between glowing waterside reflections, illuminated fountains and grand glasshouses as Kew’s iconic architecture and unique tree canopies are brought to life drenched in Christmas colour. Along the route, the delicious independent street food vendors will offer tasty festive delights, from hot food and sweet treats to spiced winter warmers and hot chocolate. We will return to our hotel later this evening. Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.
All visitors are reminded that this is an outdoor event, and the weather may be inclement, so please wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear. It is anticipated that walking the illuminated trail will take approximately 75 minutes, but you are free to spend more time on the trail if you wish.
Day 2. Monday We depart after breakfast and travel home via free time in London. From Christmas markets and Christmas shopping in London, to ice-skating rinks and Christmas events, there are many magical things to do in London at Christmas. In the run-up to Christmas, the capital's top shopping destinations are as crammed full of festive gifts, and its twinkling Christmas lights and picture-pretty window displays add a touch of magic. Visit the London hotspots such as Oxford Street, Bond Street and Regent Street, seek out heritage brands in Carnaby, beauty boutiques in Covent Garden and bespoke fashion in St James's. Or shop under one roof at one of Westfield's two huge malls. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
