Day 1. Saturday We depart and travel to the medieval town of Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury’s town centre is almost an island, encircled by a meandering loop of the River Severn. Within its loop are distinctive churches, Shrewsbury Castle, beautiful timber-framed houses, and a sweeping riverside parkland known as the Quarry or Quarry Park. The town rises from the river and will entice you in with intriguingly named streets such as Wyle Cop, Pride Hill and Dogpole. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Telford and the Mercure Telford. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.
Day 2. Sunday We depart after breakfast and visit Blists Hill Victorian Town, a recreation of a late nineteenth century town. As you wander around the Town you will experience the atmosphere of a bygone era and be treated to an array of traditional celebrations from the 1800s. In the cottages listen to stories of life more than 100 years ago, and enjoy seasonal music, alongside fabulously festive entertainment. Discover sweet treats that the Victorians loved and enjoy delicious Fish & Chips made the old-fashioned way. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
