Day 1. Saturday We depart and travel to Harrogate for time at leisure. Born through a boom in Spa tourism during the Victorian 1800s Harrogate quickly developed a reputation for luxurious getaways for body and soul. The high society of Victorian Britain flocked to Harrogate to enjoy the air, the space and the therapeutic spa treatments as well as taking the famous Harrogate waters. Modern day Harrogate is the go-to destination for relaxation and indulgence, synonymous with quality shopping and afternoon tea. Later this afternoon, we check into the Crown Hotel, situated opposite the beautiful Valley Gardens and overlooking Montpellier Gardens within the historic heart of Harrogate. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.
Day 2. Sunday Following breakfast, we depart and enjoy a behind-the-scenes guided walking tour of Yorkshire’s ‘hidden’ village. We will join one of the expert tour guides and step into the drama of Emmerdale. Prepare to be entertained as they reveal intriguing set stories and soap trivia along the way. Feel the nostalgia as you stop off at unmistakable locations that have graced our screens for the last five decades. On completion of the guided tour, we will continue to Harewood House, a stunning 18th century home set in 140 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped grounds. There will be free time to explore the house and grounds before enjoying a quintessential English afternoon tea. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
