Day 1. Monday We travel to Swansea.
Day 2. Tuesday Following breakfast, we include a guided coach tour of the Gower Peninsula. Now known as Gower National Landscape – and area of outstanding natural beauty, it was designated as the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty back in 1956. We continue to the Gower Heritage Centre where we enjoy Bara Brith and Welsh cakes, followed by a guided tour of heritage centre and mill. This afternoon we will enjoy some free time in Swansea, Wales second largest city and set on a five-mile sweep of Swansea Bay. The centre is a vibrant hub with many shops, attractions and a fabulous market that is home to all sorts of local delicacies.
Day 3. Wednesday Today we enjoy a visit to Tenby, a delightful little harbour town and seaside resort. Steeped in ancient history and surrounded by an imposing medieval stone wall, Tenby has seen many changes through time, but it has been a popular leisure destination for over 200 years. Originally settled by the Normans, Tenby became a fortified town in the 13th century. Today, its walls surround the cobbled lanes and grand Georgian houses.
Day 4. Thursday Enjoy a visit to Cardiff, a modern, cosmopolitan city with a warm Welsh welcome. With a diverse blend of modern and ancient, Cardiff is bursting with an abundance of attractions to keep you entertained. From its magnificent castle dating back 2000 years, the modern millennium centre, fascinating museums and art galleries plus a world class shopping experience, there really is something for everyone in this wonderful capital city. Whilst the attractive Cardiff Bay waterfront area with its old wharfs, new piers and glass fronted cafés are home to the impressive Welsh Assembly buildings and departure point for bay cruises.
Day 5. Friday We depart after breakfast and return home.
