Day 2. Tuesday Today we head through beautiful Border Country towards Edinburgh, stopping off at the 15th century Rosslyn Chapel. Rosslyn Chapel was founded in 1446 by Sir William St Clair. The beauty of its setting, in rural Midlothian, and the mysterious symbolism of its ornate stonework have inspired, attracted, and intrigued writers, artists and visitors ever since. Later we continue to Edinburgh. With an abundance of history, attractions and beautiful architecture, there is lots to explore including the historic Edinburgh Castle and popular Princes Street. Enjoy a glass of wine with your dinner this evening.

Day 3. Wednesday Following breakfast, we enjoy a visit to Glasgow, a city bursting with history, culture and mouth-watering food and drink. There are visitor attractions for every taste, from museums and galleries to football and science. The city is also home to one of Europe’s largest civic arts collections. Glasgow is packed with world-class museums, many of which are free to visit. Explore tales of Glasgow's past or take in grand buildings in city parks. The award-winning Riverside Museum houses the city’s vast transport collection and street scenes from a bygone era. We return to the hotel for a cream tea, with the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. Enjoy a glass of wine with your dinner this evening.

Day 4. Thursday Today we travel to Dumfries House, one of Britain’s most beautiful stately homes, with sumptuous interiors and magnificent furnishings, all set in two thousand acres of land. Saved by the intervention of HRH the Prince of Wales in 2007, Dumfries House combines the architecture of Robert Adam with the furniture of Thomas Chippendale and leading 18th century Scottish cabinet makers. Later we continue to the popular seaside resort of Ayr, complete with a charming sea front and leafy suburbs. It has a fantastic esplanade with a long sandy beach which is perfect for a relaxing afternoon stroll. Enjoy a glass of wine with your dinner this evening.
