Day 1. Saturday We depart and visit Concorde, the world’s most iconic plane, located at Manchester Airport. Affectionately known as Alpha Charlie, G-BOAC was the second Concorde to be delivered to British Airways in 1976. Concorde was the world’s first supersonic airliner and was in commercial use for 27 years. Our journey continues to the East Lancashire Railway, where you let one of the heritage steam trains or dazzling diesels take you on an unforgettable journey through the wonderful market towns of East Lancashire. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Bolton and the Holiday Inn Bolton Centre. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.
Day 2. Sunday Following breakfast, we travel home via Liverpool and a cruise on the River Mersey. There is no better way to view Liverpool’s spectacular waterfront than from the deck of one of Liverpool’s legendary Mersey Ferries, on a relaxing 50-minute cruise. Learn more about the fascinating history of the River Mersey and see incredible views of Liverpool’s world-famous waterfront from the deck of the famous Mersey Ferry. We will also enjoy free time in Liverpool to explore at your leisure. With its unique attractions, unrivalled musical heritage and famously warm welcomes, Liverpool is the ideal destination to visit. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.
