Itinerary

Day 1. Friday We depart and visit Richmond. Standing proud at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, Richmond is one of Britain's most beautiful and vibrant market towns. With its iconic castle, fine historic buildings, sweeping cobbled marketplace and leafy riverside vistas, it is the original of no less than 105 worldwide Richmond’s. We depart later this afternoon for the journey to Washington and the Holiday Inn Washington. This evening enjoy a three-course evening meal.

Day 2. Saturday Today we enjoy a visit to Durham Christmas Festival. Durham’s award-winning, annual Christmas Festival will return with a wide range of festive entertainment in and around the World Heritage Site of the Cathedral and the Castle. The Craft and Gift Marquee on Palace Green features many stalls (there is a small charge to enter the marquee) to find that special christmas gift. Away from the Christmas Festival explore the timeless quality of this quintessential old English University City and take some time out with a relaxing riverside walk or soak up the atmosphere with cafés and museums.

Day 3. Sunday We depart after breakfast and travel home via Beamish. From Georgian times right the way through to the 1950s, hop aboard one of Beamish’s traditional trams or buses and be immersed in Christmas through time. Stroll down the cobbled 1900s Town street and enjoy the traditional window displays and enjoy all the fun of the fair and take a spin on the rides at the Fairground and test your skills on the sideshows (small extra charge applies). Tuck into delicious festive treats from the bakery and sweet shop and hear festive music. We depart later this afternoon to make our journey home.

Excursion days are subject to change and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.
