Itinerary

Day 1. Sunday: Early departure as we travel to the port of Cairnryan (Scotland) and our crossing to Belfast. On arrival in Belfast, we continue our journey into North Belfast for two nights, dinner, bed & breakfast at the Dunadry Hotel & Gardens.

Day 2. Monday: Today we enjoy a guided tour of Belfast with included entrance to the Titanic Story. Belfast is a vibrant, modern city with a fascinating past. Get your bearings with a guided tour through its four ‘Quarters’ taking in historic landmarks including City Hall and Queens University. Later this afternoon we include entrance to Titanic Belfast. Titanic Belfast is an unmissable visit in any tour of Northern Ireland. It is in the heart of Belfast, on the slipways where RMS Titanic was built. Inside the iconic building, you will re-live the entire Titanic story from her birth in Belfast to the fateful maiden voyage and her eventual discovery on the seabed.

Day 3. Tuesday: We leave Belfast behind and travel to the world-famous Giants Causeway. No tour to Northern Ireland would be complete without a visit to the Giant’s Causeway, a World Heritage site steeped in myth and legend. The Giant’s Causeway, located along the stunning North Antrim Coast, is an area of approximately 40,000 columns, the result of ancient volcanic activity 60 million years ago. Legend tells the story of how the giant Finn McCool created the Causeway as a challenge to his Scottish rival Benandonner. As well as being Northern Ireland’s only World Heritage Site, the Giant’s Causeway is also a National Nature Reserve and lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are allocated a 2 hour visit to the Giants Causeway. Our scenic journey will continue to County Donegal and the town of Donegal for two night’s dinner, bed & breakfast at the Central Hotel.

Day 4. Wednesday: Today we travel along the edge of Donegal Bay to the Folk Village at Glencolmcille. Perched on a hillside overlooking a sandy curve of nearby Glenbay beach, the village is a cluster of small cottages, called a ‘clachan’ with each cottage recreating a different era of Irish history, from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. Later this afternoon we visit the Slieve League Peninsula, said to be one of the highest and finest marine cliffs in Europe. To fully enjoy the spectacle of the cliffs, we leave our coach behind and board a minibus which will take us to the viewing point, to see the incredible sea cliffs reaching 2000ft above the Atlantic – a truly wonderful sight.

Day 5. Thursday: We depart Donegal and begin our journey south and visit Sligo. Steeped in history and mythology, the county expresses itself in the music, art, and poetry of its people, made so famous by WB Yeats and others. We will continue into County Mayo and visit Knock. Our scenic journey will continue to County Clare and the town of Ennistymon, located on the River Cullenagh for two night’s dinner, bed & breakfast at the Falls Hotel.

Day 6. Friday: Following breakfast, we travel to The Burren Visitor Centre, where the natural history of this enchanting region is revealed. Later this afternoon we travel to the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre. The Cliffs of Moher are Ireland’s most visited natural attraction with a magical vista that captures the hearts of up to one million visitors every year. Standing 214 meters at their highest point they stretch for 5 miles along the Atlantic coast of County Clare in the west of Ireland.

Day 7. Saturday: We depart Ennistymon and continue our grand tour of Ireland and visit Limerick. Set on the mighty River Shannon, Limerick has a rich history and strong heritage, which remains today. Our scenic journey will continue to County Kerry and the town of Killarney for three night’s dinner, bed & breakfast at the Killarney Towers Hotel.

Day 8. Sunday: Enjoy a day at leisure with an included Jaunting Car Tour and Cruise, the perfect way to see the hidden delights of the Killarney National Park and the famous Lakes of Killarney. Killarney National Park was established in 1932 to protect one of Ireland’s most precious natural habitats. Beneath the wild, rugged summits of the country’s highest mountains, it encloses a beautiful sylvan landscape of ancient woodland, spectacular waterfalls and quiet lakes.

Day 9. Monday: Today we enjoy a scenic tour of the famous Ring of Kerry. As part of the Wild Atlantic Way, the Ring of Kerry (or Iveragh Peninsula to give it its correct name) is a mystical and unspoilt region of Ireland that has attracted visitors for hundreds of years. With undulating hills, soaring mountains, rugged coastline and picturesque, traditional villages, each twist and turn of the scenic tour will reveal amazing sights and spectacular views.

Day 10. Tuesday: We depart Killarney and begin our return journey home travelling to Cork. Exciting, historical, full of life, Cork has lots to explore. As one of the main cultural hubs of Ireland, the Rebel city is brimming with a fascinating and exciting history. Our journey will continue through Tipperary to Cashel, home to the iconic Rock of Cashel. One of the most spectacular tourist attractions in Ireland and one of the most visited. Cashel’s rich history is reflected in its heritage, from prehistoric raths to medieval monasteries and fortified town houses. We will continue to our hotel on the outskirts of Dublin for two nights dinner, bed, and breakfast at the Talbot Stillorgan Hotel.

Day 11. Wednesday: Today we enjoy free time in Dublin. The fair city of Dublin is a beautiful medieval city, with a long and colourful past – its museums, art galleries and wonderful architecture, all chronicling its fascinating history. Immerse yourself in the history, heritage and culture of Dublin, a cosmopolitan capital city that still has an individual charm. Those in search of the perfect pint need look no further than one of Dublin’s thousand pubs. The vibrant city life brims with traditional Irish culture, all set against the backdrop of its stunning coastline.

Day 12. Thursday: An early departure as we travel to Dublin Port. A full breakfast is included on-board the ferry. We continue our journey home.
